"Herndon's Heroes "

Dr. Seuss

We are still celebrating Dr. Seuss. On Monday, we had three visitors come to our classroom and read to us. We had a Richmond City Police Officer, a College Professor, and a Parent. Tuesday another parent came to read to our class.
If you are interested in volunteering in our class, please contact me. You may read to us, tutor someone, or share things about yourself with the class. If you want to do something special, just let me know.

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss

Last week was FANTASTIC. This week is off to a good start. An instructor from the Math and Science Center visited our class and did a force and motion lesson. It was a lot of fun. The students even got to do an activity on a Play Station 2. :)

We had a visitor from the Virginia Department of Education on Friday. She really enjoyed our class. She observed us doing a reading/phonic activities on the SMARTBOARD. The children were well behaved and they had a FABULOUS time learning.

Today is Dr. Seuss' birthday. We all brought in a book by him. Some students bought in more than one, to share with his/her classmates who didn't have a book or had forgotten to bring one. I wore a red and white striped Dr. Seuss hat. Mrs. Collin's our Reading First Coach came in and read Oh,the Places You'll Go!
